Maghiarii din Banat (confesiuni) / Hungarians in the Banat (denominations)

XIX.
Marcatori: albastru = romano-catolici, roșu (violet deschis) = reformați, violet închis = mixt catolici + reformați.

This is the map of the denominational profile of Hungarians in counties Bihor / Bihar and Arad / Arad ( see list ), referring only to the relative weight of Hungarian denominations and to communities with at least 10% Hungarians. The vast majority tend to be Roman Catholic, very often as a result of the massive colonisations of the Habsburg period. The few Reformed are mostly concentrated in a few villages north of Lugoj / Lugos, in the Bega / Béga Valley, where they were colonised by the Hungarian authorities towards the end of the 19th c.
Markers: blue = Roman Catholics, red ( light violet ) = Reformed, violet = mixed Catholics + Reformed.
